Fans Demand Custody of Person Who Grabbed Ariana Grande
Loyal supporters of the actress are urging that a individual who jumped a barrier and grabbed the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or removed from Singapore.
A viral footage depicts the individual from Australia pushing past camera operators and charging at Grande while the performers walked down a event pathway surrounded by onlookers.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the event by guards.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being arrested", though official papers indicated that he was due to attend court on the following morning. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.
Pattern of Disruptions
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram profile features clips of him disturbing other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney show in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last year.
"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is clearly a legal violation," wrote an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user wrote.
Supporters Show Disapproval Over Grande's Well-being
Several followers accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented a further response on Instagram.
Some fans also criticised guards at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some requested online networks to block Mr Wen's content.
Reaction and Event Details
In footage shared widely, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.
Grande has not commented on the event, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.
Numerous of attendees had assembled in a crowd of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international debut in a Singapore venue, including a number who had waited for as long as many hours before it began.
The motion picture, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-film version of the popular stage production Wicked, which focuses on the surprising bond between two very different witches.
The production itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.
They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of the previous year in the UK, and earned 10 Academy Award nods, earning several for best costume and artistic direction.
