The comedian

Best-selling writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
