Barça Set to Play Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in La Liga 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
